For Spanish punk band Airbag, loving Weezer meant learning enough of their music to fill entire sets. According to Consequence, the group played five or six tribute gigs in the early 2000s, turning their enthusiasm for the band into full-show homages.
One of those performances paid particular tribute to The Green Album. That detail gives this early chapter of Airbag’s story its charm: their admiration wasn’t confined to a passing reference or an occasional cover. They devoted whole gigs to playing the music of a band they wanted to emulate.
