CHVRCHES Turn Inward on New Single “Overthinker”

CHVRCHES put complicated emotions at the center of “Overthinker.” According to Consequence, the new single finds Lauren Mayberry examining tensions within family relationships and feelings that don’t neatly align, with the band grounding that introspection in synthesizers.

That pairing gives the track its central pull: an inward-looking subject set within an electronic framework. Rather than presenting emotion as something easily resolved, “Overthinker” makes room for contradiction—a fitting focus for a song whose title suggests a mind reluctant to let things rest.
