Inde Navarrette used her own gym routine to take a swipe at Shane Gillis on “Saturday Night Live.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Obsession” actress riffed on Gillis’ joke about women dressing like “whores” to work out while discussing her preparation for Marvel’s X-Men reboot.
“Every morning, I put on my little whore outfit, and I hit the gym,” Navarrette said. By making herself the subject of the line, she turned the premise back on Gillis rather than letting his characterization of women at the gym stand unchallenged.
The Hollywood Reporter also reported that Tom Hanks made a surprise appearance in the cold open, adding another recognizable face to an episode whose highlights included Navarrette’s pointed response.
