Rosalía made room for her musical predecessors during her Billboard Hall of Fame induction. According to Consequence, the Spanish singer paid tribute to Juan Luis Guerra, Celia Cruz, Daddy Yankee and other Latin music icons, acknowledging multiple generations of artists while receiving recognition of her own.
That roll call brought a broad musical history into the spotlight: Guerra’s merengue and bachata, Cruz’s towering salsa legacy and Daddy Yankee’s role in taking reggaeton worldwide. The tribute accompanied what Consequence described as another major win for LUX. Rather than letting the occasion center solely on her achievements, Rosalía used it to recognize the artists who helped expand Latin music’s reach.
